Beneath the Sea update
Press Release
Beneath the Sea’s Consumer Ocean Adventure is an exposition celebrating scuba diving, travel, and underwater exploration. Every year, Beneath the Sea gathers nearly 300 exhibitors and a host of experienced and respected international professionals working in all sectors of the scuba diving, ocean environmental, and underwater exploration communities.
Together with the Beneath the Sea’s team of Directors and volunteers, they create a weekend of excitement, education, special events, and parties to celebrate the underwater arts, education, and science. Throughout this dynamic weekend, Beneath the Sea presents to the interested and involved public information illustrating the sea changes of our times, an update for all members of our ocean community.
Education being the most important part of Beneath the Sea’s charter, we fulfill that obligation by offering an extensive series of scholarships, a Marine Careers program, and acting as a sponsor for over 60 seminars and workshops examining life in and on the oceans of the world. Our scholarships are available on the Beneath the Sea website, as are the seminars and workshops organized by Beneath the Sea and conducted by specialists and industry experts invited to the Beneath the Sea weekend.
Parties begin Friday evening, March 22nd, with a champagne dinner honoring the Beneath the Sea awardees for 2024: Howard and Michele Hall as Legends of the Sea, Richard Kohler as Pioneer, and Becky Kagan Schott, Evan Kovacs, and James Sears as Divers of the Year for Arts, Science, Service, respectively.
Saturday evening, Beneath the Sea hosts a six-course dinner at La Reggia for their awardees, Woman Divers Hall of Fame new inductees, and Beneath the Sea scholarship recipients. Sunday, the Woman Divers Hall of Fame presents a brunch for their members. All events are open to the public with tickets available on Eventbrite.
Add to all that new product introductions, equipment demonstrations, presentations from exotic dive destinations, and always the rattle, buzz, and hum of social events and parties that celebrate the coming together of old friends and the making of new ones. A Beneath the Sea weekend entertains, informs, and excites experienced and new divers while welcoming non-divers to this fraternity of friends from beneath the sea.
Put Beneath the Sea on your calendar today, meet old friends, make new friends, and be a part of the present and the future in scuba diving, oceanography, exploration, environmentalism, adventure, and underwater photography.
Make yourself a part of Beneath The Sea when it convenes its next Ocean Adventure, Scuba Diving Exposition, and Travel Show at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, the weekend of March 23rd and 24th - only 4 miles, just 10 minutes from mid-town Manhattan.
